Günther Thallinger is the chair of the UN-convened Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance, an ambitious climate leadership group that has made a bold, public commitment to transitioning investment portfolios to net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, taking into account the best available scientific knowledge. This is the first group of private players, who started setting interim 2025 targets in line with the Paris Agreement. Current members collectively account for close to US$ 6 trillion in assets under management.
